Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team is back in action on Saturday afternoon, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad plays host to the Centenary Gents in a non-conference tilt at the Cajundome.

Tip-off is scheduled for 2 o’clock, and you can hear all the play-by-play action on ESPN 1420 and espn1420.com, along with Hot 107.9 and 1079ishot.com, beginning with the pregame show at 1:30 pm.

The game is the second of a three-game home stand for the Cajuns, and will be the front part of a men's/women's doubleheader.

Louisiana, who is coming off of a 94-86 win over the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs on Wednesday night, is 4-4 on the young season, while Centenary, a Division III school, was 3-6 heading into their game on Friday night against Rust College.

The Cajuns are outscoring by the opposition, 73.3/69.1, while out-shooting foes from the floor, 47.1%/40.5%, and holding down a 38.1/34.8 rebounding edge.

UL is paced by senior forward Brian Williams, who is averaging 13.3 points, to go along with 5.6 rebounds a contest, along with junior forward Shawn Long, who is averaging 13.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per match-up.

The Gents are being outscored by the opposition, 74.6/73.4, while being out-shot, 44.8%/43.1%, and out-rebounded, 42.3/32.6.

Centenary is paced by sophomore forward Kendall Demouchet, who is averaging 13.2 points and 4.4 rebounds-per-game, along with sophomore forward James Sapp, who is averaging 11.8 points, along with 6.2 rebounds a contest.

Centenary leads all-time series, 21-19, but Louisiana has won three of the last four meetings, including a 103-69 triumph a season ago.
