Cajuns Host Louisiana Tech – Game Preview

Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team is back in action on Wednesday evening, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad plays host to the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in a non-conference tilt at the Cajundome.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 o’clock, and you can hear all the play-by-play action on ESPN 1420 and espn1420.com, along with Hot 107.9 and 1079ishot.com, beginning with the pregame show at 6:30 pm.
The game is the first game of a three-game home stand for the Cajuns.
Louisiana, who is coming off of an 80-70 setback to the McNesse St. Cowboys on Saturday night in Lake Charles, La., is 3-4 on the young season, while Louisiana Tech, who defeated Jackson St., 65-52, last Saturday, is currently 7-1.
The Cajuns are outscoring by the opposition, 70.3/66.7, while out-shooting foes from the floor, 46.3%/39.4%, and holding down a 37.6/35.6 rebounding edge.
UL is paced by senior forward Brian Williams, who is averaging 13.0 points, to go along with 5.9 rebounds a contest, along with junior forward Shawn Long, who is averaging 11.2 points and 6.4 rebounds per match-up.
The Bulldogs are outscoring the opposition, 76.6/64.8, while out-shooting them, 45.2%/39.5%, while being out-rebounded, 40.0/34.2.
Louisiana Tech is paced by senior guard Raheem Appleby, who is averaging 16.0 points and 1.8 rebounds-per-game, along with junior guard Alex Hamilton, who is averaging 13.9 points, along with 3.8 rebounds a contest.
Louisiana Tech leads all-time series, 68-57, but Louisiana captured an 89-80 win in the last match-up, back on December 4 of 2013, in Ruston, La.
