Led by All-Americans Kyle DeBarge and LP Langevin, the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns placed three players on the 2024 All-Louisiana College Baseball team, released on Tuesday at the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA).

The duo was joined by freshman pitcher Chase Morgan who was named honorable mention.

The team was selected in voting from the state’s athletic communications directors and a panel of statewide media members.

DeBarge, a consensus All-American, earned first-team honors at shortstop after hitting .355 with 21 home runs and 72 RBI.

The Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year led Louisiana to a 42-20 overall record, the SBC regular-season title and a third consecutive trip to the NCAA Regionals.

DeBarge was rated as the No. 1 shortstop nationally by D1Baseball while setting single-season records for home runs (21) and total bases (179). He became the first player in school history to hit 20 homers in a season, recorded 28 multi-hit games with 10 games with three or more

Langevin, named to the first team as a pitcher, posted a 6-1 record on the mound for the Ragin’ Cajuns with a 3.73 ERA and seven saves. The Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Year
finished as the SBC leader in strikeouts (106), fewest hits allowed (40) and fewest runs allowed (27)

The native of Quebec was third nationally among DI pitchers in strikeouts per nine innings (15.22) and hits allowed per nine innings (5.74).

Langevin was tied for third in saves among SBC pitchers, seventh in ERA and tied for ninth in wins. He recorded most strikeouts in a season by a Cajuns pitcher since Zach Osborne (112) in 2010.

Morgan, a first-team All-SBC performer and Freshman All-American, recorded a 5-3 record on the mound with a 3.18 ERA in his inaugural season in a Louisiana uniform.

The SBC Freshman of the Year fanned 69 batters in 73.2 innings during the season and ranked second among all Division I freshmen in ERA.

Morgan allowed 7.21 hits per nine innings to rank fourth among all Division I freshmen while his 1.07 WHIP led all freshmen. He allowed one hit and fanned 11 in 8.0 innings against Marshall.
