Both stores are offering incentives if you recycle your car seat on location.

I'm not a parent, but I know that kids are expensive. Diapers, bottles, food, clothes, etc. Not to mention, they seem to grow out of everything you buy before that receipt even makes it to the garbage. Maybe you've had an old car seat sitting in your garage.

It's time to trade it in.

September is National Baby Safety Month and to celebrate, Target and Walmart want you old car seat. Both stores are hosting nationwide car seat trade-in events. It's simple, drop off your old car seat and walk away with a goody.

Target: Drop off your car seat by Friday, September 13. Just stop by guest services and receive a 20-percent off coupon for a new car seat, stroller or baby gear. Restrictions apply and the coupon is valid through Saturday, September 14.

Walmart: Drop off your car seat anytime between Monday, September 16 and Monday, September 30. Just stop by the Service desk and receive a $30 gift card to use on more baby items. The gift card can be used online or in store.

Not only will you be able to save money on baby items, but this program is designed to recycle car seats, thus keeping them out of landfills.
