Once again this year, members of the Acadian Home Builders Association have teamed up to raise money for St. Michael's Shelter for Veterans, Faith House, Lafayette Habitat for Humanity and the Acadiana Shelters for Youth.  Judy Keller joined Bernadette Lee and Ken Romero on the Morning Report to talk about the project, raising money for the charities and prizes.

7th District Congressman Charles Boustany of Lafayette spent time talking about current events on the Morning Report with Bernadette Lee and Ken Romero.  Boustany talked about the orientation process for new members of Congress, the fallout from the moratorium on deep water drilling in Louisiana, and airport body scanners.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana started a unique program this year to educate people about the importance of getting this season's flu shot.  Comedian and Actor Jamie Wax spoke to Bernadette Lee and Ken Romero on the Morning Report about why BCBS wants to get a flu shot and photograph it.

Rachel Hebert joined the Morning Report on Friday to discuss the toy drive she and her family started.

Miles Perret Cancer Services will benefit, again this year, from the annual Camellia Crossing.   This year's 5K & 1 mile Family Fun Run will be held at Town Square River Ranch on the evening of November 24th.

Two items dealing with special taxing districts, one for the I-49 and I-10 corridor, and the other for the intersection of Ambassador and Kaliste Saloom have been pulled from the Lafayette City Parish Council's Agenda next week.
