Chauvin Seafood Business Burns

CHAUVIN, La. (AP) — Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire that engulfed a large seafood building in Chauvin.

The Courier reports that firefighters were dispatched at 8:20 p.m. Saturday to Boquet Seafood. Fire Chief Marty Thibodeaux says the whole building was engulfed in flames. Thibodeaux says employees had been drying shrimp before the blaze.

Thibodeaux says the strong wind fanned the fire through the whole building. Nobody was in the building at the time of the fire.
