Citizens Fighting Crime

Eunice resident Alex Andrus recently created the “Eunice Community Watch Facebook Group.”

He did so after his neighbor was shot and killed and no suspects have been located.

Andrus asked St. Landry Parish Deputy Chief Eddie Thibodeaux to help him start the group.

Andrus says,

“I’m doing it to spread awareness and keep everyone aware of what’s going on around their neighborhood,”

Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot supports the group but reminds the public that they still need to report all crimes to police.

Law enforcement from Eunice and St. Landry will conduct a public meeting to address neighborhood safety one week from today at 6:30 p.m. at the Liberty Theater in Eunice.
