City Wide Household Chemical Day Two Weeks Away
Lafayette Consolidated Government's Environmental Manager Mark Pope joined 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' today to remind residents of Lafayette and unincorporated parts of the parish the opportunity to safely dispose of household chemicals will soon be here. Chemical clean up day happens twice a year in Lafayette and this fall October 20th has been set for collection of household chemicals.
Pope said,
All household chemicals excluding oil, batteries and tires can be dropped off at Cajun Field from 8:00am until Noon on Saturday, October 20th. ID's will be checked to insure that only people living in the city limits of Lafayette and the unincorporated areas of the parish will drop off chemicals. Oil, batteries and tires are not collected because there are commercial entities that collect and recycle those.
