The eyes of the world are on the recent meeting between President Trump and North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un. US Representative Ralph Abraham from Richland Parish says he’s thankful that relations with North Korea are at a point where talking is a possibility.

"Look, I'd much rather talk with these guys than fight them," said Abraham. "When both countries have nuclear weapons, nothing good can come of that if they go the wrong way."

Abraham says the current discussions could always go south, but as of right now, it appears that the conversations are more advanced with North Korea than ever before. The congressman says he has got faith in President Trump’s ability to strike up an effective deal with Kim Jong Un.

"President Trump is going to keep his cards close, I know he's going to protect our allies in the region," said Abraham. "I think we our in good hands with his negotiations skills."
Mr. Trump posted on Twitter Wednesday that there is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea.
