Costly Special Elections

In the last several years there have been 32 special elections in Louisiana and the price tag is 1.1 million dollars.  The elections have been to find replacements for departing legislators.  The legislative auditor Daryl Purpera's report shows that Louisiana  topped the number  of special elections held by 11 other Southern state  during the same  time  period.
