St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriffs Office responded to an unusual 9-1-1 call when a customer at a local gas station reported what he considered a case of highway robbery. An unusual 9-1-1 call came in to the emergency center in St. John the Baptist Parish when a irate customer at a local gas station reported what he considered a case of highway robbery. Sheriff's office spokesman Captain Dane Clement explains the call. The angry customer complained that the price per gallon changed while he was still pumping. Clement says an investigation into the charge shows that occurrence is very unlikely. According to the station manager, the customer drove in while computers were in the process of changing prices. Clement says the complaint may have come from confusion over the posted price versus the actual price at the pump. (Clement says the case has been turned over to the Attorney General's Office as a civil complaint.)
