For the amount of media build up it was given this weekend's severe weather threat turned out to be not as big of a deal as was forecast. That's a good thing. But don't think because it didn't storm at your house that there wasn't heavy weather in the area.

Many residents around South Louisiana reported issues with power. At one point SLEMCO was reporting almost 25,000 customers with service interrupted. However, the utility reacted quickly and had most customers back online within several hours.

In Abbeville, a tree blew across a power line. That resulted in several reports of residents without power for several hours while that pole was repaired.

In Lafayette, a tree was reportedly blown into a townhome on Charolais Street. There were no injuries reported in that incident.

A powerline was reportedly brought down by a fallen tree in Acadia Parish near Maxie on U.S. Highway 13.

Meanwhile, more tree damage was reported in Youngsville in the area near Espasie Road and Waterway Drive.

While the forecast for the next few days across Acadiana appears to be fairly calm. There will be another threat of strong storms in the area on Thursday with yet another approaching frontal system.
