The man responsible for the abduction of 4-year-old Erin, her 6-year-old sister Jalie Brunett, and the murder of Erin and her mother, Callie Brunett, appeared before a Hinds County Grand Jury in the state of Mississippi.

Daniel Callihan was indicted for one count of capital murder, two counts of kidnapping, three counts of sexual battery, and one count of receiving stolen property. His accomplice, Victoria Cox, was indicted for capital murder, kidnapping, and sexual battery.

According to myarklamiss.com, the Mississippi Department of Public Safety Commissioner Sean Tindell confirmed that both Cox and Callihan would be tried in Mississippi and Louisiana.

Callie Brunett was found deceased by her father on the floor of her bedroom after being reported missing by her family 24 hours before. She died from what has been described as "sharp force injuries." Tangipahoa Parish Coroner Rick Foster found multiple stab wounds on her head, neck, chest, abdomen, and back in addition to what is believed to be defensive wounds on her arms.

Her daughter Erin died from asphyxiation from being suffocated. It is an all-around heartwrenching case that will hopefully end with the closure the family needs to heal from this.
