Two members of Louisiana's congressional delegation urging the Army Corps of Engineers to finish a hurricane protection study by next year's hurricane season.

Senator David Vitter and Representative Jeff Landry want the Corps to restart the Southwest Coastal Louisiana Hurricane Protection and Restoration study.

They say that study was terminated after six years and millions of dollars in taxpayer money.

Both say the study is essential to determining how best to protect the region.
