Dense Fog Advisory Posted For All of South Louisiana

It's true that many South Louisiana residents will be waking up in a college football championship fog this morning. The rest of us will be waking up in a fog of Mother Nature's doing. Regardless, neither fog is a good place to be when you're supposed to be driving yourself to work or getting kids to school.

The National Weather Service office in Lake Charles has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for much of the area through 10 am. The area included in the advisory is a large one. It runs from southeast Texas across the southern half of Louisiana through Baton Rouge and New Orleans and points east.

Forecasters say visibilities in the advised area could become less than one-quarter of a mile during the early morning hours. Granted the fog is not a solid thick blanket, so while it might be clear where you begin your journey, chances are you will be scrambling to see out of the window at sometime before you reach your destination. So, please plan your travels accordingly.
