A crash involving and vehicle and a pedestrian remains under investigation in St. Martin Parish this morning. Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Department say the incident happened about 9 pm on Saturday night on George Dupuis Road.

In that incident, deputies say a pedestrian was struck and injured. The victim was transported to a local hospital however the extent of their injuries was not known at this time.

Investigators believe the vehicle, whose driver did not stop and render aid at the scene, is believed to be silver in color. The vehicle is also likely to have damage to its front passenger side headlight and other damage along the passenger side of the vehicle.
