Drought May Set Record

Unless the state receives another seven-tenths of an inch of rain by Thursday, the first six months of this year will go on record as the driest such period ever in the state. State Climatologist Barry Keim says Louisiana has received only 17-point-two inches of rain for the period so far.  The normal rate is just over 30 inches.
