Disposal of expired or unwanted drugs is a problem for many households.  Julio Naudin of the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's office joined 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' today to discuss a solution.

This Saturday the Sheriff's office, the Broussard police department and the Drug Enforcement Agency will hold their annual drug "take back" day to properly dispose of unwanted or expired drugs.

Naudin said,

Unwanted or expired drugs can be a hazard in any household and can contaminate the community water supply if dumped in sink or toilet.  We'll take those drugs off your hands at three drive through locations this Saturday from 10am until 2pm.

The three drive through drop off locations include:

  • Lafayette Consolidated Government Building at 705 W University Avenue in Lafayette
  • Broussard Wal Mart hosted by Broussard Police
  • Louisiana State Police Troop I on Pont des Mouton Road hosted by Troop I
