UPDATE:

WAFB is reporting the little girls has been found safe and healthy in an abandoned car in Baton Rouge.  The search for the child's father is still going on.

Louisiana State Police has issued a Level II Endangered/Missing Child Media Advisory on behalf of the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office for 22 month old Desiree Mayfield.  Desiree was last seen on Thursday afternoon, February 18, 2016, in the Gardere Lane area of Baton Rouge with her father, Donoven Bessie.  She is believed to be in imminent danger.

Donoven Bessie is a 23-year-old black male with a dark complexion, black hair, and brown eyes.  He is approximately 6’1” tall and weighs 155 pounds.  He was last seen walking on Siegen Lane towards Airline Highway, wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and a dark colored “bucket” hat.

Donoven Bessie is wanted by the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office for Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Terrorizing, Unauthorized Entry of a Business, Disturbing the Peace, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. He should be considered ARMED and DANGEROUS.

Desiree Mayfield is a 22-month-old black female child with black hair and brown eyes.  She is approximately 3’0” tall and weighs about 45 pounds.  She was last seen wearing a pink and green onesie.

 

Anyone having any information as to the whereabouts of Desiree Mayfield or Donoven Bessie should immediately contact the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office at 225-389-5061 or their local law enforcement agency through 911.
