Eunice Police officers responded to a report of a traffic accident Tuesday night and found a pickup truck had entered Bertrand Printing on 8th Street. The driver, 31 year old Andy Rider fled on foot and tried to enter a nearby building. Officers tried to take Rider into custody but he resisted violently and was tazed twice. During the scuffle, Rider allegedly kicked, punch and spit on officers. He was taken to Acadian Medical Center for treatment then booked into the Eunice City Jail. This morning Judge Donald Hebert set bond at $34,000. Rider has since posted bond.

Rider faces charges of reckless operation, open container, criminal damage to property, resisting and officer by force or violence, aggravated assault, 2nd degree battery, battery of an officer and disturbing the peace.
