An Evangeline Parish grand jury will meet in June to determine if charges will be filed after a state audit showed improprieties in Police Jury operations.

According to the audit, conducted by the Louisiana Legislative Auditor's Office, Police Jury employees were paid for overtime they didn't work, conducted private work on Police Jury time and did not follow state competitive bid laws.

The audit was conducted at District Attorney Trent Brignac's request. He said the auditor's findings are currently under review by felony prosecutors in his office.

Brignac called the audit's findings "disturbing."
