Additional Information

Celebrate our local culture in a way like no other! The Iberia Preservation Alliance intends to honor its name every year by celebrating a Great Southern Writer each year.

The things most dear to this year's author, James Lee Burke, are all close to home. His fondness for memories of family, the unique culture of Southern Louisiana, and the connection the locals share with nature can be seen in his novels' passion and detail. Burke's books follow the life of New Iberia detective Dave Robicheaux.

Books Along the Teche is about capturing the spirit for Louisiana's revelry and hospitality, in celebration of the outstanding literature produces by our very own Cajuns. Engage with the culture with storytelling, workshops, readers theatre, music, bourée lessons and tournament, bus and boat tours, a 5K run and seemingly endless food.

Poster art by Ron Cutrera will be revealed at Victor's Cafe in New Iberia. Posters will be available for purchase at Books Along the Teche and Shadows on the Teche following the reveal.
