HOUMA, La. (AP) — After a former bartender was convicted of killing the manager of a Houma nightclub, his sister and mother were arrested in the courtroom on a charge of witness intimidation.

The Courier reports that 26-year-old Jorell Young was convicted Friday of first-degree murder and sentenced to life for killing Robert LeCompte (luh-COUNT) on Christmas 2009 in the Drama Club.

Then 48-year-old Nellie Young and 27-year-old Cateria Young were handcuffed, accused of threatening the woman whose tip led to Young's arrest. Online records indicate that both remain jailed Sunday.

Thirty-one-year-old Darkus Baker was Young's fiancee in 2009. She testified that Young told her on Christmas Eve that he was going shopping for presents, and told her about the killing when he returned home before dawn.

Baker now lives in New Orleans.
