A St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Deputy working a Mardi Gras security detail at Cypremort Point on Saturday pulled over 24-year Garret Martin.  The man blew a .214% on his blood alcohol test.

The deputy saw Martin make an illegal U-turn and then drive off the roadway.

Martin consented to a field sobriety test and the chemical test for intoxication.

While the deputy was trying to place Martin in patrol car, the officer says Martin began kicking the car's door and refused to get in the vehicle.

He was finally put in the car, and he was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and resisting an officer.

He was later released on a $2,500 bond.
