The first thirty-five people that donate blood at the Rayne Chamber of Commerce today will get a bracelet for free rides at the festival.

Vitalant is asking for blood donors.

When you donate blood, you are saving at least three lives.

Blood products are used in a variety of ways including when their is surgery, response to a crash, for cancer patients and more.

The details are simple. The Rayne Chamber of Commerce will be holding their blood drive from 2:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. today, Monday, May 6.

The Rayne Chamber of Commerce can be found at 107 Oak Street.

It is a first come, first serve basis, so the first thirty-five people that donate blood today will receive a bracelet for free rides at the festival.

The Rayne Frog Festival begins this Wednesday.

There are some requirements to donating blood. Click here to find out more. Some general guidelines are that you must be 16, weight 110 pounds at least and be in good health. If you are 16 or 17, you will need your parent's permission.

School is coming to an end, vacations are planned and summer can distract donors. Vitalant officials are reminding people that blood donations are always needed.
