Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns forward JaKeenan Gant has been honored by both the Sun Belt Conference and the Louisiana Sports Writers' Association as their Player of the Week.

In two games last week in his home state of Georgia, Gant averaged 29 points, 11.5 rebounds and three blocked shots as the Cajuns split a pair of league games.

On Thursday against Georgia State, Gant scored 36 points on 14-21 shooting, including 2-4 from beyond the arc.  He was a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line and hauled in eleven rebounds.

Saturday against Georgia Southern, Gant scored 22 points on 9-17 shooting.  He made 2-4 from three point range and 2-2 from the free throw line.  In addition, Gant had a career high five assists and blocked five shots, including a crucial block in the final seconds.

He is the first Cajun to be honored by the league this season.
