Gasoline prices in Louisiana are inching upward again. Louisiana AAA fuel analyst Don Redman says increased demand for crude to make home heating oil is largely the reason for the jump. He says we are within 8 cents of the cost of gas surpassing $3 a gallon. The statewide average price of regular, as of Tuesday, is $2.93 a gallon. Redman says the national average gas price is over $3, and that's largely because of harsh winter weather conditions. Redman feels gasoline prices in Louisiana will stabilize at around their current levels for January and February, but worries about another spike in prices as the new year wears on.
