Governor Bobby Jindal has used his power as Governor to put forth an expression of respect for the people killed during the September 11th attacks and the military lives lost afterwards during the surge of American troops throughout the Middle East.

He executed an executive order yesterday to have all flags across the state flown at half-staff today.

The executive order states:

SECTION 1: As an expression of respect for Louisiana’s fallen civilian and service members who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and the days since to defend this country, the flags of the United States and the State of Louisiana shall be flown at half staff over the State Capitol and all public buildings and institutions of the State of Louisiana from sunrise September 11, 2012, until sunset September 11, 2012."

Today marks the 11th anniversary of the attacks.
