Governor To Honor Louisiana’s Longest Known Married Couple On Valentine’s Day

In honor of Valentine's Day, the Louisiana Family Forum and the Governor plan to honor Louisiana's Longest Known Married Couple. Executive Director Gene Mills says they're a bright and bushy tailed young couple out of Slidell by the name of Ralph and Dorothy Richards married 81 years. Mills says the couple will be honored today. Mills says the Top 10 Longest married will receive an Official Statement of Special Recognition from the Governor's Office. Mills says they are an extraordinary couple and each 97 years old. Mills says according to the couple, they met in 1929 at City Park in New Orleans.
