JACKSON, La. (AP) — Two organizations are offering rewards for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for two incidents in which cats were killed in East Feliciana Parish.

The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/SejK1W ) that in once incident, a parish resident found his kitten hanged from a low-lying branch in his yard.

In the other case, about a dozen cats living at an abandoned residence in Ethel were killed or wounded in November.

The Humane Society of Louisiana and Alley Cat Allies are offering the rewards. They scheduled a joint Thursday night meeting at the Jackson Civic Center to discuss the incidents.
