I can't tell you how many times over the last couple of years that someone has asked me, "Hey, whatever happened to Hunter Hayes? I haven't heard anything from him in a while."

Well, that's about to change.

The Breaux Bridge native will finally have a new single out as he's releasing a new song on Friday called "Heartbreak". The song is part of a forthcoming new album.

So what's the song about?

"It's a song about true honest happiness and love and how there is love for everyone," said Hayes. "Not only are you worthy of being loved but there is somebody out there who loves you even though they haven't met you."

While it has been a while since Hayes' last album, he hasn't been completely quiet. In 2018, he released a very honest and introspective song "Dear God", that to date has accumulated over 22 million streams globally.

For his career, Hunter Hayes has achieved over 1 billion on-demand streams globally and three chart-topping singles, including his 5x multi-platinum crossover single "Wanted".

We can't wait to play the new song here on 97.3 The Dawg!
