I-10 Closed In Both Directions At Texas-Louisiana Border
As Imelda continues to dump rain on Eastern Texas and Western Louisiana, DOTD announced they have closed Interstate 10 at the Texas-Louisiana border.
A DOTD official tells KPEL News the storm has already dumped 36 inches of rain between Beaumont and Winnie.
In 2017, Hurricane Harvey (flooding from the storm pictured above) flooded the same areas as Imelda is doing this week.
BELOW is the list of road closures provided to us by DOTD:
• I-10 westbound from Exit 4 to the Louisiana/Texas State Line,
• LA 12 westbound from Starks to the Louisiana/Texas State Line, and
• US 190 westbound from Merryville to the Louisiana/Texas State Line. (NOW OPEN)
Motorists traveling west may take US 165 (Exit 44), US 171 (Exit 33), or LA 27 (Exit 27) to detour to I-20.
