A place to play, a place to run, a place to walk, a place to just relax. That's what several members of the Iota community say is the driving force behind the town's Inaugural Fall Festival.

Organizers of the event say it will take place on September 28th at Veterans Pavillion in Iota. The event will feature live music, a jambalaya cookoff, and loads of activities for kids and families.

The proceeds from the festival will help to provide funding for a city park in Iota. Many residents say the town does not have adequate park facilities. This festival would be one way to ensure that money is available not only for equipment but for the upkeep of the park as well.

If the event is successful in its fundraising efforts the new park will be located on South First Street. The Inaugural Fall Festival is planned for September 28th at Veterans Pavillion from 2 pm until 11 pm.
