USPS Making Big Service Changes For Mail In Texas
Soon the only mail you will get at home might be junk. Large companies that send that junk mail to your house could be the only ones that can afford to send you things.
Though writing and sending a letter in the mail might seem quaint or a thing of the past, the price is becoming quite modern. Many Texans still use the United States Post Office to pay bills and send other official documents.

The USPS is hoping to modernize the way they do business. Their "Delivering For America" 10-year plan is bringing those improvements to Texas.
Delivering For America Plan Will Be Paid For By Us
The decades-long plan was put into action on March 23, 2021. They published a two-year progress report in 2023.
According to the report they are still operating at a loss. They have lowered their 10-year projected losses from $160 billion to only $70 billion.
If you wonder how they will do all that, it's becoming clear. They are raising the prices of stamps and postage.
Forever Stamps Have Gone Way Up In Price Since 2007
In 2007 when the first forever stamps were issued at only 41 cents a stamp, how many would you have bought if you knew they would be almost double the price in 16 years?
Now these "Forever Stamps" will cost you 73 cents each, up from 68 cents. On the USPS website, you can see forever stamps at both price points.
