Louisiana Citizens Need to Mail Holiday Packages By Dates Announced
The holidays are rapidly approaching and if you plan to mail packages to friends and family will need to have them out by the dates announced.
The United States Postal Service has announced dates that packages need to be shipped in order for them to reach their destination by the holidays.
So many of us in recent years have rushed to the post office to send out holiday packages, and if we wait too long the recipients will not receive gifts or packages in time for the holidays.
And let's be honest, you don't want to disappoint anyone you love who is anticipating a gift from you for the holidays.
So, there are some dates you need to keep in mind if shipping out packages in the weeks or months ahead, and here are the dates announced by USPS:
2023 USPS Holiday Shipping and Mailing Deadlines
Within the Lower 48 (excludes Alaska and Hawaii)
- USPS Ground Advantage — Dec. 16
- First-Class Mail (including greeting cards) — Dec. 16
- Priority Mail — Dec. 18
- Priority Mail Express — Dec. 20
Alaska
- USPS Ground Advantage — Dec. 16
- First-Class Mail — Dec. 16
- Priority Mail — Dec. 18
- Priority Mail Express — Dec. 20
Hawaii
- USPS Ground Advantage — Dec. 16
- First-Class Mail — Dec. 16
- Priority Mail — Dec. 16
- Priority Mail Express — Dec. 20
Air/Army Post Office (APO), Fleet Post Office (FPO), Diplomatic Post Office (DPO)
- USPS Ground Advantage — Nov. 6
- First-Class Mail — Dec. 9
- Priority Mail — Dec. 9

So, if you plan on shipping anything for the holidays, please keep these important shipping dates in mind and you may even want to set a reminder into your phone to have your packages out by the dates marked above.
