The Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in identifying the person you see here.

According to their social media post, the white male seen here allegedly used a WiFi Blocker while attempting to pick the lock on a house. By turning off the WiFi, the would-be burglar could disable an alarm or security cameras.

The agency says that the man posed as a cable installer in Vermilion Parish when he went to the residence.

The suspect was in a white SUV when he went to the house located at Red Rose Lane near La. 338.

If you recognise this person you are asked to call Sgt. Chad Touchet at 337-898-4403.

Remember to never open the door to your house to someone you do not recognize or expect to visit your home. You should also always ask for proper identification before ever allowing anyone to come into contact with you.

Sadly, many people go door-to-door posing as salespeople or in this case as repairmen, only in hopes of gaining access to your property.
