Louisiana May Get One More Cold Front This Spring
(Lafayette, Louisiana) - The summer heat will soon be here, so if there's another cold front to happen in Louisiana, we'll gladly take it.
As we get into late Spring, there are fewer and fewer cooler mornings and nights, but one more cold front may treat those who are along the Gulf Coast.
Storms are expected to enter the region by Thursday, and perhaps linger into the start of the weekend, but by Sunday, we may feel our last bit of cold air until late October.

Cooler air is expected to sweep across the area Sunday, bringing with it much cooler mornings and nights, and I am perfectly fine with that bit of news. I don't know if this latest cool front will call for gumbo pots, but why not?
Now, for those who will be in Breaux Bridge this weekend for the annual Crawfish Festival, it looks like the festival will end with some beautiful weather and much more pleasant weather conditions.
Lower humidity levels may be felt to end the weekend and to start the new week, which would be a blessing as we enter the month of May.
Again, we know that the extreme summer temperatures aren't far off; thus, enjoy the cooler air one more time by Sunday. It truly feels like winter doesn't want to leave, and it appears that Punxsutawney Phil was correct when he called for several more weeks of winter.
When Does Summer Start?
Summer officially starts on June 20, 2025, and will last up to September 22, 2025. However, we know that the summer heat can last deep into October.
So, if you haven't put the fire pits away in your yard or on your patio, keep them out for a few more days, as you may be able to burn any wood you have left over from winter.
