National Hurricane Center Monitoring Disturbed Weather Off Louisiana Coast

We're now in the peak of hurricane season and the National Hurricane Center has announced that they are monitoring an area of disturbed weather off the coast of Louisiana.

While forecasters don't predict this will turn into a hurricane, a tropical storm or depression is not out of the question.

That said, those along the coast should prepare for several inches of rain on Thursday and Friday. The good news is, that a cold front pushing down south will make this area of disturbed weather move further southward by late Friday.

If you live in a flood-prone area, you should take precautions and if you're along the coast, expect heavy rain for the next few days.

Again, forecasters do not predict a storm to develop out of this low pressure in the gulf, but you most certainly want to be weather-aware as we end the work week.
