(Pensacola, Florida) - Beachgoers from across Louisiana are flocking to the beaches along the Gulf Coast this summer to enjoy some summer fun, and two women didn't let a shark scare them out of the water.

A video on social media shows a small crowd of beachgoers standing in the water as a large bull shark reportedly eats a pelican.

You can see some people rush out of the water as the shark approaches the shore, but two women closest to the shark were undeterred by this potential threat.

Yes, we know sharks live in the water and that the Gulf is their home, but let this video be a reminder that there are some massive sharks out there, and you need to be aware of your surroundings while out on the beach this summer.

We also remind you that if you see a shark in the water, it's probably a good idea to exit the water and return later once it has swum away.

What Does a Purple Flag on a Beach Mean?

The purple flag hoisted by lifeguards at the beach is a warning sign that dangerous marine life has been spotted in the water, and you should heed it.

Check out these two brave women as they watch a shark enjoy a quick meal off the coast of Pensacola, Florida.

In a separate incident, a helicopter over a Florida beach caught video of a shark swimming near two children, who weren't far from shore. Again, you don't have to go far out in the water to encounter sharks at the beach these days.
