(Youngsville, Louisiana) - A couple of photos after a recent Mardi Gras parade in Acadiana have gone viral because it shows what we've been expecting.

For some reason, some people still think that the "squatted trucks" you see on Louisiana roads are cool or attractive, and those who oppose them have long argued that they could be dangerous to those inside and to others on the road.

What is A Squatted Truck?

A squatted truck, also known as the California Lean or Carolina Squat, features a heavily lifted front suspension that raises the front end. In the back, there's a lowered or stock suspension, which makes the truck look like it's "sitting" or "leaning back."

Well, the problem arises when truck drivers get on the road and can't see what's in front of them. Because the front truck is raised so high, it can obstruct the driver's view, posing a danger to the driver and anyone nearby.

Are Squatted Trucks Legal in Louisiana?

According to Louisiana Law, these trucks are not legal on the highway:

"No person shall operate a motor vehicle upon any highway if, by alteration of the suspension, frame, or chassis, the height of the front fender is six or more inches greater than the height of the rear fender."

Now, let's get to the wreck in Youngsville after their annual Mardi Gras parade, which drew tens of thousands of people.

Paxton Francois posted a couple of photos of a wreck in Youngsville after the Mardi Gras parade, showing one of these squatted trucks up on the trunk of a smaller car. By all indications, the truck driver may never have seen the white car they hit.

Francois tells me that he and a friend were walking back to their vehicle when they heard a loud noise. When they turned around, they saw the truck they had been looking at, but this time it was perched on top of another vehicle.

Somehow, there wasn't extensive damage to either vehicle, and we don't know if anyone was injured in the wreck.

Remember, whenever you impede your vision while driving, things like this can happen, so do everything you can to keep your vision clear of everything in front of you. Here are the photos of the crash from Youngsville.

In a separate photo, you see the white car stopped in front of the truck, and soon after, the truck is on top of the car's trunk.

According to Paxton Francois, he was taking a photo of the truck before it crashed, and shortly after, he heard the noise and witnessed the crash.
