A company that prepares frozen gumbo and frozen jambalaya for consumers in Louisiana, Arkansas, and Texas has issued a recall on some 18,000 pounds of the frozen food. The reason for the recall, according to the United States Department of Agriculture had to do with the inspection record of the facility where the products were made.

The products in question are sold under the trademark, Lady Jambalaya. Despite the fact that the company makes both jambalaya and gumbo, the trade name refers only to "Jambalaya". You can see an example of the packaging in the photo provided by the United States Department of Agriculture.

The parent company of the Lady Jambalaya Brand is Wild Cajun Meals LLC. That company has its home offices in the Dallas suburb of Garland Texas. It is important to note that there have been no illnesses reported in connection with these products. The recall was issued because the jambalaya and gumbo were produced in a facility that had not been federally inspected therefore those products did not receive the USDA mark of inspection.

You're encouraged to check your freezers and refrigerators specifically for the 32-ounce containers labeled either Lady Jambalaya Homemade Jambalaya or Lady Jambalaya Homemade Gumbo. Containers that have a manufacture date since September of 2021 are subject to this recall. It is advised that you contact the company to arrange replacement products or a refund.
