Fans of the brand like to talk about the quality construction of each garment. They also like to discuss the different styles and color selections the brand has available too. But perhaps the most telling point that Lululemon fans make about the clothing brand is comfort.

Brands like Lululemon, Nike, Adidas, Puma, and Under Armour have been on a serious rise since 2020. This would be one of the "silver linings" of the COVID pandemic. As more and more people stayed at home to work their work attire changed. No longer were people Zooming into meetings in business attire, more often than not smart-looking casual outfits began to dominate those video conference calls.

And once the nation stepped back out after COVID, so did the athleisure outfits that people had gotten used to wearing. If you look on campus at LSU or the University of Louisiana you'll see a large portion of the student body, particularly the female student body, sporting fashions by one of the brands we've mentioned.

Louisiana Doctors Have Revealed a Health Concern About Lululemon Clothing

As comfortable as Lululemon togs are to wear they are not suitable to wear to some medical appointments. Specifically, an appointment that involves an MRI. You see part of the strength and quality of a Lululemon garment involves the inclusion of metallic threads. Those metallic threads can get very hot during an MRI and some patients have actually reported a burning sensation.

But the latest concern involving the brand involves its "Be Planet" campaign. The company is accused of being misleading in the promotion of that campaign. Detractors say the commitment to sustainability and environmental friendliness is highly overstated. The term for companies that are overzealous in reporting their "green" status is called "greenwashing". Some have accused Lululemon of that.

The company denies the claims and suggests that its "Be Planet" initiative is doing exactly what it said it would do. The company touts "100% renewable electricity and 60% absolute reduction in greenhouse emissions" in its company-owned and operated facilities.

Still, plaintiffs in a class action suit say the results don't match the claims and the company is not telling consumers the entire story. We will have to wait and see what the courts decide. Litigation has been filed in U.S. District Court in the Southern District of Florida. There has been no timetable offered on when the court might hand down a decision.
