Wednesday nights in Louisiana is a big not for fans of the Louisiana Lottery. The state's lottery offers three big draw games on Wednesday night. There is Powerball, that's the multi-state lottery game that produced a $250,000 winner on Saturday night in Bossier City, Louisiana.

There is Lotto which currently offers players a chance to win over half a million dollars. And there is Easy 5, which to me, is the best bet on the board especially when you consider how high the jackpot totals can climb.

Powerball is the game that gets the most attention because it's the one that usually has the largest amount of money to win. In Wednesday's Powerball drawing players were hoping to match the necessary numbers to claim a top prize of $80.7 million. But alas, no one did.

Granted, no one won the "big money" but there were winners in Louisiana from the Wednesday, April 17, 2024, drawing. If you missed the draw, here it is.

If you were unable to watch the video the numbers that fell from the hopper were:

24   29   44   47   54   Powerball 02   Power Play x2

You can verify those numbers at the Official Powerball Website or the Louisiana Lottery Website. There was no jackpot winner in Wednesday's Powerball so the jackpot on Saturday night will climb to an estimated $98 million.

The top prize earned by a Louisiana ticket in Wednesday's Powerball drawing was only $200 bucks. Only two tickets sold for the drawing earned that and seven other tickets earned a prize of $100.

What Louisiana Lottery Game Delivered at $240,000 Winner?

As we mentioned two other games held drawings in Louisiana on Wednesday night. The Louisiana Lottery's Lotto Game boasted a top prize of $675,000 but no tickets sold for that drawing matched the numbers needed to claim that prize. The Lotto Jackpot will climb to an estimated $700,000 on Saturday night.

That means the big ticket of the night must have come from Easy 5 and it did. Our sources at the Louisiana Lottery could only confirm partial information for us early this morning. We do know a single ticket matched the five numbers needed to take the game's top prize. We know the top prize was $240,000.

Where Was the $240,000 Louisiana Lottery Winner Sold?

It looks as if Lady Luck spent Wednesday night in one of Louisiana's smallest communities. Have you ever heard of the Village of Downsville, Louisiana? If you haven't you are probably in the majority. Downsville is located in Union and Lincoln Parishes in north Louisiana, the population as of 2010 as determined by the U.S. Census Department was 143 people.

Congratulations to the Easy 5 winner and here is our regular reminder that most lottery tickets purchased do not produce large cash prizes if any cash prize at all. So, only spend what you can afford to lose. If you have a gambling problem or feel you might help is available.
