Louisiana Woman Wins Indecent Exposure Case After Year Long Fight
In the case of the Louisiana woman who was ticketed for wearing shorts and a crop top to a festival in Winnfield, Louisiana back in 2022, apparently, justice has prevailed. In the original narrative from February of last year, we brought you the story of Casey LaCaze-Lachney. You can review that story, right here.
Or you can watch the Tik Tok video that catapulted the controversy from small town Louisiana to an international incident with some 8 million viewers commenting and reacting on the video. We must caution you that Casey does drop more than a few "F-Bombs" in the video, so please consider this to be NSFW.
When the story broke many of you commented on @kazzi112's video that her outfit was not indecent. Many of you suggested it wasn't the kind of attire they would wear to a "family festival" but as @kazzi112 comments in the video "all of my bits are covered".
LaCaze-Lachney opted to fight the citation and with her attorney, she began a yearlong fight to have the citation and the charges dropped against her. Well, that finally happened. LaCaze noted in a video on her Tik Tok page that the City of Winnfield, whose officers wrote the citation, will be dropping the indecent exposure charges and will have the citation expunged from LaCaze-Lachney's record.
Furthermore, the city of Winnfield will also reevaluate the ordinance as it is written. The town's council is expected to discuss the ordinance and any changes at the next meeting of that body. As for her part in the incident, LaCaze-Lachney appears to have just one simple question, "why did this happen to her"? As far as we can tell, no one has a good answer to that question.
But we do know that Casey and her cut-offs and crop top would be welcome at any of these festivals, assuming they're held during the warm weather months. Who are we kidding, the months are almost always warm in Louisiana.
