Louisiana shoppers are being warned about a recall involving a candy product sold at stores across the state.

Customers thought they were reaching into their candy bag to find a piece of delicious chocolate. Unfortunately, they discovered their candy was covered in mold even though the package had never been opened.

As much as I hate to admit it, I do get sucked into the candy aisle by the registers every now and then. It's probably my fault for always going shopping hungry or maybe shopping just works up an appetite. If you have every made an impulse by near the register you will want to make note to avoid this particular product often found in the 'temptation aisle of doom'.

Authentik Fudge is recalling their Chocolate Fudge with nuts called 'Montreal Fudge' due to mold growth contamination.

Their products were sold at Louisiana Marshalls and TJ Maxx Stores across the state.

The company released a statement after complains from a customer, "We initiated this recall after a consumer complained about some mold pieces inside the purchased box and we found also some remaining unpacked sealed products at the manufactured place that had beginning signs of mold".

Shoppers will want to look for lot number 0241500805 with expiration date of 2025/MR/01, lot 0241690105 with expiration date of 2025/MR/17, and lot 0241690205 with expiration date of 2025/MR/17, on the back of the package.
