A developing story out of Abbeville is said to involve a large SWAT presence.

UPDATE:

According to the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office, John Micah LeBlanc was arrested in the early morning hours of Friday, September 23 after barricading himself inside of an Abbeville home in an attempt to evade police.

ORIGINAL STORY:

State Police confirmed an incident was taking place in Abbeville, but told KLFY there weren't many other details at the moment.

I have been made aware of an incident happening in Abbeville, however that is all I have at this time.

KLFY's Dionne Johnson says she reached out to Abbeville Police Chief Mike Hardy who replied that he had "no comment" on the incident unfolding in his city.

The ongoing situation is said to involve a male suspect who has barricaded himself inside of an Abbeville home and is "refusing to come out." People in the Thomas Street area have reported to large police presence, telling KLFY that negotiators with SWAT were surrounding the home.

The situation is considered to be live and we will update this story with more information as we receive it.
