In early May, Breaux Bridge native Jake Delhomme got the official word that he would be inducted into the Carolina Panthers Hall of Honor.

Until this year there was only one player included in the Hall and that was the late great (and former New Orleans Saint) Sam Mills.

The Panthers organization announced last month the inclusion of four new members to that ring of honor, and one of those names is of our aforementioned native son. Delhomme joins receiver Steve Smith, lineman Jordan Gross and tight end Wesley Walls. (Delhomme and Walls also spent time with the Saints.)

The Carolina Panthers have put together a series of videos to highlight each of the four players and Jake's video was posted yesterday.

It shows the moment he found out about this new honor and the video also is a great tribute to not only the great quarterback but also a greater person.

Later this year Jake will get a bronze life-sized statue of himself outside of Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte where the Panthers play their home games. That's just cool!

Watch the touching video below. Have some tissues handy.

Congrats Jake, we're still very proud of you podnuh!
