Louisiana, Look Away! Jason Kelce Sucks Crawfish Head the Wrong Way on Podcast

The Kelce brothers have definitely had their fair share of missed conections when it comes to Louisiana food, but Jason Kelce may have just topped the list in the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, filmed on site in New Orleans ahead of the Super Bowl.

In a hilarious moment making the rounds online, Jason attempted to suck the head of a crawfish—backward. Yes, you read that right. Instead of enjoying the rich, spicy juices in true Louisiana fashion, he managed to fumble the technique in a way that has Cajun food lovers cringing and laughing.

This comes just a few months after Travis Kelce called New Orleans cuisine “pooey,” doubling down on his dislike for gumbo and jambalaya. And while Jason was much more open to Louisiana flavors—trying fried alligator, beignets, king cake, and hurricanes—his attempt at eating crawfish has many wondering if the Kelce boys just aren’t built for Cajun country.

The New Heights episode, which featured special guests Peyton and Eli Manning, was full of classic New Orleans moments. But it’s Jason’s crawfish fail that has locals SMHng (and LOLng). To his credit, he at least tried it—unlike Travis, who refused to touch the crawfish or gumbo altogether.

From crashing lookalike contests on Bourbon Street to controversial food takes, the Kelce brothers are clearly making the most of their time in New Orleans.
