Jeanerette Man Arrested For Selling Stolen Brass

St. Mary Parish Sheriff's deputies arrested a Jeanerette man last night after he allegedly sold stolen brass to an area scrap yard.

Deputies say 49-year-old Roy Verret sold the brass to the scrap yard, and the owner of the business where the materials were stolen from was able to identify his stolen items to police.

Verret was arrested for theft, but was later released from the parish jail on a $1,000 bond.
