Comedian George Lopez is coming under fire today for a comment he made as part of a reply to an Instagram post.

The story came to light after it was seen on a post. There have been a variety of different entities reporting on the Instagram post.

Someone speaking during the eulogy of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, made a comment that there is an $80 million bounty on President Trump's head.

Now, there has been no confirmation that there is an actual bounty, but either way, the actor angered many people after he commented on the Instagram post by writing, "We'll do it for half."

Here is what Newsweek reports was the source for the bounty:

A eulogist at the procession, broadcast live on Iran's state-owned Channel One television network, apparently called for the $80 million bounty while addressing crowds in the city of Mashhad. "We are 80 million Iranians. If each one of us puts aside one American dollar, we will have 80 million American dollars, and we will reward anyone who brings us [Trump]'s head with that amount," the unidentified man said.

It's not sitting well with many people, although some are defending Lopez saying it was only a joke.

No word yet on whether or not Lopez might get a visit from the Secret Service.

Nothing has been said about the comment on Lopez's Facebook page. But Lopez's spokesperson talked to Newsweek, and he was quoted as saying it was just a joke. His exact comments to Newsweek were, "It was absolutely a joke and that's it."

Soleimani was killed by a drone strike on Friday of last week.

Iran has continued to vow that there will be some sort of revenge to which President Trump responded by listing 52 targets in Iran.

There is also the possibility of more sanctions, but there is no official statement saying that Iran's government in away is sanctioning a bounty on President Trump.
